Il gioco è uno shooter ambientato nella seconda guerra mondiale; tra gli sviluppatori del gioco sono presenti alcuni importanti membri del team di sviluppo di "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault".
Per quanto riguarda la modalità single player, il gioco si articola su 24 missioni in cui impersonerete le tre fazioni principali in lotta contro l'Asse Nazista, cominciando come paracadutista americano nel D-Day, passando per le truppe speciali Inglesi, fino ad arrivare a comandare un carroarmato Russo, verso la conquista di Berlino (maggiori innformazioni sulle tre "campagne" potete trovarle sul sito ufficiale)
Il multiplayer è stato massicciamente sviluppato, consentendo ben cinque diverse modalità:
- Deathmatch
- Team Deathmatch
- Behind Enemy Lines
- Retrieval
- Seek & Destroy
Aside from deathmatch and team DM, there's a "Search and Destroy" mode that's essentially a WWII version of Counter-Strike. Played out in a round-based last-man-standing format, one team tries to accomplish an objective (such as blowing up a flak gun), while the other team tries to protect it. "Behind Enemy Lines" is a variation of "Tag," where a majority of Axis hunt down a minority of Allies; upon killing one of the Allies, you become one yourself, and gain bonus points for staying alive. The last mode, called "Retrieval," is best described as one-flag CTF, where one team needs to steal an item and return it to their base.
