Come ogni colosso UODreams deve affrontare man mano sfide sempre piu' complesse. Dopo i numerosi DDOS che abbiamo subito, ora e' il momento di combattere con i cracker (N.d.A. il cracker e' colui il quale si introduce nei server facendo azioni molto spiacevoli). Il fascicolo di denunce di GamesNet si infoltisce di un nuovo caso, un altro ip verra' denunciato per danni.
In pratica il 24 gennaio un furbone e' riuscito ad ottenere l'accesso al nostro server. Ieri, grazie ad un dubbio di un utente, me ne sono accorto ed abbiamo rimesso in sicurezza il server e quantificato i danni. In effetti il riavvio di ieri pomeriggio e' stato fatto proprio per sistemare gli script che sono stati modificati.
Il danno e' consistente. In pratica ogni player aveva la possibilita' di aggiungere e modificare oggetti. Il problema principale e' che tracciare tutte queste anomalie e' praticamente impossibile e lo staff non vuol trovarsi tra 8 mesi a dover giustificare un'arma con 7 props o un monile 1/3 15/15 int8. Senza contare i runici che potrebbero trovarsi in giro. C'e' molto altro ancora da considerare ma mi limito a queste informazioni, dovrebbero rendere l'idea.
La soluzione, purtroppo, e' unica... tornare al save del 24 gennaio e perdere una settimana di gioco. So gia' cosa proverete nel leggere questa frase... non posso dirvi altro che ci dispiace e faremo di tutto per recuperare questi giorni che vi abbiamo fatto perdere.
Per la cronaca... anche i problemi ed il crash di alcuni giorni fa sono stati causati da questa "anomalia".
Tra poco il server sara' messo giu' per un po' di tempo, dopodiche' verra' uppato il save del 24 gennaio.

As it happens to every giant, UODreams have to face challeges every time more complex. After all the DDOS attacks we have received, it's now time to fight against the crackers (a Crakcer is somebody who sneaks into a server and dameges it).
Now we will have to denounce a new IP address to the authorities.
On the 24Th of january somebody could grant himself the access to our server. Yesterday we realized it (because of a doubt that a player pointed out), and we managed to secure the server again, and to count the damages.
Telling the truth the restart we performed yesterday afternoon has been made to fix the scripts that this guy had modified.
The damage is pretty big. Every player had the ability to add and modify objects. The main problem is that it's impossible to track all these things and the staff doesn't want to be forced to justify in the future 7 props weapons or 1/3 15/16 int8 jewels. Without talking about all the possible runic kit and hammers that could be around at the moment. There would be a lot more to be considered, but i think this is enought to picture the situation.
unfortunately, there's ONLY ONE SOLUTION... bring everything back to the 24th of january using and old save. I know how you all will feel reading this sentence... i can't say anything else than "I'm sorry" and that we will do wathever we can to let you regain these days that we made you lose.
By the way... Also the crash problems that we had in the past days were due to this fact.
In a few moments we will shut down the server, and after that we will restore the save of the 24th of January.
