About Ultima Iris
What is Ultima Iris? Ultima Iris is a 3D game client for the popular Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Game "Ultima Online" (tm). Adding a third dimension to the well-known Ultima Online World, Iris allows the player to navigate the gaming environment just like any modern 3d rpg and still retain the unique roleplaying experience that only classic Ultima can provide. Moreover, being compatible with standard UO game servers, the player is not limited to play with only users of Iris but may also seamlessly interact with players using standard 2d clients.
But there is already "Age of Shadows"!
"Age of Shadows"(tm) is just the plain old 2d-map of ultima enhanced with 3d-models for the characters, whereas Iris creates the whole world (including houses, trees, landscape and whatnot) with 3d objects and thereby greatly increases the visual quality (and the cpu-load
Will I be able to play on OSI / on my *your favourite emu here* - Freeshard?
Ultima Iris is intended to work on most existing Freeshards. Custom Maps are supported, as well as custom gumps and custom art... Playing on OSI is not sure, but at least, we hope being able to get it working one day.
Is Iris free? / Can I modify it for usage on my own shard?
Ultima Iris is free software. It will be released under the GPL, when it reached a final release state. Additionally, it will be very easy to modify a lot, due to Iris scripting capabilities.
Sembra interessante...chissà che sia pure leggero e non impalli il pc...
