On the UO Tamer forum, Leurocian (Designer, Ultima Online) followed up on a comment he made last night in the UOHOC Dev Chat.
After suffering skill loss from dying, pets can never train their skills back up over 100.
The fix is to allow pets - that have suffered skill loss - to train their skills back up to their original starting tamed values.
Example: say a fire steed has a 104.4 resist when initially tamed. Then, the fire steed dies a few times bringing its resist down to 102.5. Currently, the fire steed cannot train the skill back up to 104.4. The fix will allow the fire steed to do so. In essence, 104.4 becomes the fire steed's skill cap for resist.
I have this internally coded and will need to be tested by QA.
Just wanted to give y'all a heads up about this since I mentioned yesterday evening that I would be looking into this today.
Note: I can't fix pre publish 29 pets that once had over 100 skill and no longer have over 100 skill. Whatever their skill is if it's over 100 though, will become their skillcap for that skill after publish 29. Hope that makes sense.
