The Parry skill is checked during combat to determine whether an attack can be fully blocked. Melee attacks can be fully parried if the defender is using a Shield or Melee weapon. Ranged attacks cannot be parried. On a successful parry, the attacker will miss completely. Base Parrying skill is increased with magic Parry Skill Modifiers before determining the % chance to block. Chance of blocking is further enhanced by the defender's Defense Chance Increase item modifier.
